Brian

Brian Butler

CEO & Co-founder of DISCflex Recovery

Mr. Butler is a highly accomplished technical & engineering leader. He honed his executive leadership skills in business development, sales, team building over the past few decades in many capacities. He led large multi-disciplined teams and was responsible for multi-million-dollar programs substantially increasing efficiency, revenue, and profits in the defense sector prior to joining Indaba. Mr. Butler has extensive experience in leading systems integration teams; having developed numerous space and airborne hardware systems and intelligence software applications from concept through deployment. Brain has an intimate knowledge the impacts of addiction to both addicts and supporters. In his current role as CEO of DISCflex Recovery, Brian provides guidance and strategic direction. His mission is to help spread recovery efforts to all impacted by addiction. Brian’s efforts are fundamental in bringing the DISCflex Recovery Assessment Tools to treatment facilities. As far as his credentials, Brian has multiple engineering degrees and an MBA. His hobbies include fishing, biking, and tinkering in his workshop.

Hellen

Hellen Davis

Managing Member & Co-founder of DISCflex Recovery

Hellen Davis, CLU is one of the founders of Indaba Global Coaching, LLC., a provider of behavioral assessments. Indaba Global specialized in leadership development. For three decades, it has been a management consulting, eLearning, and training corporation. She and Brian Butler have led the efforts to retool the DISC platform specifically for recovery and treatment planning efforts. Her goal is to help move the dial on the addiction crisis.

Indaba clients focus on academia, high tech industries and sales organizations and include executives and leaders from dozens of Fortune 100 corporations and leadership in the top agencies in the public sector. Hellen is respected for her extensive knowledge of accountability and executing strategic goals, as well as influencing strategies, strategic planning, behavior modification processes, sales and peak performance management expertise, and negotiation tactics. Ms. Davis has written many books, including the DISC Encyclopedia as well as the best seller The 21 Laws of Influence. Her favorite is Noble Intent, co-authored by Fran Landolf. Before founding Indaba Global, Hellen Davis worked for many years in the insurance industry. She is a Certified Life Underwriter (CLU).

Tom Cook

Chief Marketing Officer

Mr. Cook is responsible for communicating the benefits of DISCflex Addiction Assessment to addiction centers, media outlets, associations and at conferences throughout the United States.

Mr. Cook is an accomplished executive with a history of excellence in a wide variety of sales and marketing environments.  He graduated from The Ohio State University.  Tom also attended the Executive MBA Program at the University of South Florida.

Tom has experience with Mergers and Acquisitions, Senior Sales Management, and New Business Development at the executive level.  From Computers, Teller Terminals, Proof Machines, ATMs, Market Research, Financial Services, Travel Incentives, Hearing Aids to Addiction Behavioral Assessment, Tom has substantially increased sales at every organization he has been involved with.

In addition to time spent with his wife, daughter, and son, Tom is an avid bowler and enjoys (leaving) the gym on a daily basis.  He is also a Stephen Minister with Anona Methodist Church in Largo, Florida.

Alex Fryer

Senior Director of Operations

Alex is responsible for training and managing all distributors, clients, and office personnel.

Alex graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a B.A. in Communications. He worked in the real estate market for Community Resource Management Company in East Lansing, Michigan, and also has experience working at Total Quality Logistics in Tampa, Florida. Alex developed a knowledge of sales organization, keeping track of client records, and knowing when and how to call upon past clients, as well as prospecting for new clients.

Michael Ortega

Director of Sales and Marketing

Mike is responsible for improving sales strategies and enhancing market growth through customer engagement and retention.  While using one of our DISCflex™ Leadership Programs as a customer to help improve his own leadership skills, he saw the opportunity to help coach others using DISCflex™ Programs. Upon completion of the program, Mike left his retail management position with Footlocker, Inc to join the Indaba Global team full time. Mike’s retail management background gave him a strong understanding of how to build relationships with customers and take the necessary steps to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

James Fryer

Director of Project Development

James is the 'Jack of all trades' on our team. His core responsibilities include program and content development.

James studied Political Science for four years at the University of Florida and graduated with a B.S. in Public Policy and Administration from St. Petersburg College. James has worked on presidential and senatorial campaigns, and for Nationwide Title Clearing. Working on various political campaigns has given him great experience in meeting deadlines and maintaining highly sensitive financial and legal documents. His leadership and organizational skills enable him to be an asset to the Team.
